Q:   Is diving dangerous?

 A:  Diving is obviously a sport with life threatening dangers which can be reduced and managed significantly by appropriate training, correct equipment, diving within qualification and competency limits, behaving respectfully and being sufficiently fit.  Statistically horse riding is the most dangerous amateur sport based on the number of injuries per number of riders involved.
