About Us - Harlow Sub Aqua Club
Have you ever longed to explore the fascinating underwater world? Does diving with seals in the Farne Islands take your fancy? How about witnessing first hand the prolific and beautiful fish life and different textured corals, and what about exploring shipwrecks and piecing together their history from recovered artefacts?
Well now you have the chance. Let Harlow Sub Aqua Club branch 141 in Essex help you take the plunge…
The club was founded in 1962 as part of the British Sub Aqua Club, which operates club branches throughout the UK and provides diver training recognised throughout the world.
Many qualified divers from other agencies, such as PADI join us to progress their diving skills and belong to a club where they can train and dive with friends and other club members.
Harlow Sub Aqua Club has a reputation for welcoming new members into a warm, safe and friendly environment. The club has a number of members from all walks of life, male and female, from 14 to 70, from the novice to the expert.
Instructors are trained to a high standard with a policy for buddy pairing the less experienced with the most experienced with safety in mind.
We also warmly welcome experienced divers who are looking for regular diving and offer extended training at minimal cost. We regularly organise dive trips in the UK and overseas ('see Trips and Reviews' for some of the most recent) as well as teaching beginners and experienced divers from BSAC approved courses.
We have:
- A training pool
- Our own RIB
- A range of diving equipment
- Use of lake
- Regular use of 6m pool for deeper training, which is also used for filming underwater scenes in Box Office hit movies
- A compressor hut, which we use to provide free air to all our members
We meet every Wednesday night from 8.30pm at Stewards Pool at Staple Tye in Harlow. After the pool sessions many of our members congregate at the Moot House Social Club at the Stow, Harlow, to plan regular dive trips, both in the UK and abroad, and social events.
So what are you waiting for? For more information check out our 'Contacts Page' or pop down to the pool on a Wednesday night for a friendly chat.
