Harlow Sub Aqua Club

Double Celebration for Stuart Crump

DOUBLE award winner Stuart Crump has been celebrating having scooped two accolades at the BSAC Diving Conference (DOC) and the Scuba Show.

The Harlow BSAC instructor collected the Collins and Chambers Open Water Instructor trophy out of the 333 people in the UK who qualified throughout the year as instructors. The award recognises the newly qualified instructor who has achieved the most merits and was presented in front of 300 people at Olympia, London.

Then that afternoon at the main Scuba Show he picked up a certificate and D6 Suunto diving computer having been named Volunteer of the Year. Stuart joined 30 people from around the country in winning this award presented by diver and TV personality Monty Halls.

Stuart was nominated for this award for his hard work in the compressor hut, looking after club equipment, teaching in the pool each week and for helping set up Harlow SAC website.

“Harlow Sub Aqua Club has always prided itself on the quality of its instructors and this has been exemplified by Stuart Crump being awarded the Open Water Instructor trophy and Volunteer of the Year,” said club Chairman, Jim Ridings. “To pass the OWIC is very challenging, as many previous instructors will testify, but to achieve this prestigious award is a high honour.”
