HSAC's First Silly Scuba Event (Wednesday 16th December 2009)
STEWARD'S pool was home to egg and spoon races and three-legged races as divers took part in Harlow Sub Aqua Club's first Silly Scuba event.
With requests from Club Chairman Jim Ridings, Events Organiser Lorna Crump arranged the night to celebrate the last pool session before Christmas.
Due to work celebrations and sickness unfortunately the night wasn't as well supported as had been hoped but the two teams still had a great night. There were also other members in the pool teaching the new trainees so as not to slow down their progress.
Teams consisted of: Stuart Crump, Lynda Westall and Allan Hatch, and Alan Harman led Jim Ridings and Kelvin Price to success. They took part in egg and spoon and three-legged races to rafting on giant floats and scuba kit set-up relay.

Rebreather diver Jim Ridings appeared to have forgotten how to configure conventional scuba kit while DO Alan Harman lost his tank in the rush to set up! (Let's hope you don't do that in the sea, Alan!)
Kelvin showed "egg-cellent" control during the egg and spoon race while Alan should have been disqualified for cheating - rolling his egg along the pool floor. (it didn't go unnoticed!)
Jim Ridings said: "Many thanks to Lorna for organising a fab night at the pool on Wednesday doing Silly Scuba. Alan Harman's "C~Heat" team fought a closely contested battle with Stuart Crump's "NBG" team. For those of you who didn't turn out - you missed a good night."
