Q: As a member can I organise a trip for the club?

A: Harlow Sub Aqua Club strongly encourages members to arrange and book club trips. This reduces the pressure on individuals.

You do not need to have any qualifications to book a hard boat dive but you do need to be qualified to particular depths to take part in certain dives.

You can also book the club's RIB but will need support from a Dive Leader who will be able to help plan the dive, taking into consideration the weather conditions, tides and risk assessments. 

You will also need a qualified Diver Coxon to navigate the RIB safely and someone able to tow the boat.

All club dives need to be discussed in advance with the Diving Officer.

BSAC run a Dive Planning Skills Development Course (SDC) that will give you the skills and information to arrange your own trip. This course goes towards your Dive Leader qualification, if you choose to do this to progress your training.
