Q: What equipment do I need?
A: The nature of equipment required will depend on the level of diving to be undertaken. However, as a minimum you should acquire your own mask, fins and weight belt. Ideally you should also acquire a torch, wrist dive computer, a good dive suit (either dry or semi dry for the UK, and wet suit for warmer water), Buoyancy Jacket, main and emergency breathing regulators, depth and air contents gauges, hood, gloves, dive knife/cutters and a robust bag for them all to go in. Until funds allow some of the equipment can be hired from the club at reasonable rates including 12 or 15 litre compressed air cylinders.
