Q: What has diving in the UK to offer?
A: First of all easy access, we all live within a few hours of any inland site or the coast! Secondly, variety. In Gildenborough, Stoney Cove and Chepstow we have three of the best inland dive sites in Europe, ideal for open water training and skill development.
However, we are also surrounded by an immensely varied and interesting coastline with probably the greatest number of shipwrecks to be found anywhere in the world. The wrecks are not only an historical reference to our heritage, but provide artificial reefs supporting a wide variety of coral and marine life.
Throughout the UK there are probably more dive centres and boats per mile of coastline than anywhere in the world, offering divers a wide choice of sites and diving to suit all abilities and interests.
Of course we have tides, lower temperatures, wind, and visibility conditions to contend with, but that’s all part of what makes UK diving the most interesting in the world.
