Diving in Rottingdean I hear you say

Rottingdean I hear you say, where the bloody hell is Rottingdean? Well, just to the East of Brighton, on the stony south coast. Looking for a safe but worthwhile sea shore dive, we stumbled across Rottingdean. Due to natural rock groyne’s protruding into the sea, sheltered safe entry and exit places exist. Terri and yours truly donned snorkel gear to explore this cove. Best time to dive is 1 hour before HW, but we went in 3 hours after HW and at low water. The visibility and depth at low water was poor. This site can’t be dived at Low. But high water was good. Visibility was 3 meters and we got 3.7 m, 3 hours after HW. Sea bed was rocky gullies with occasional spider crabs and small fish.

Plus points:
Nice pub on beach.

Good place to take trainee divers, as long as not LW.
Good place to snorkel any time.
